About Us:
Geographe is located in the beautiful town of Coles Bay, on the East Coast of Tasmania. We run as a busy cafe by day and restaurant by night, serving up our famous wood fire pizza and international foods.
We have a great mix of local clientele as well as a constant flow of guests visiting our town.
Personality & Skills:
We are offering an exciting opportunity to join Geographe’s management team in the role of Head Chef. The successful applicant will be someone who has excellent communication skills, with the ability to understand and lead the kitchen team by utilising their diversity and skills. A proactive attitude and a high-performance mind set with outstanding attention to detail is essential for the successful applicant.
Key Responsibilities:
Ensuring smooth daily operations of kitchen shifts
Ordering stock and dealing with suppliers
Oversee menu design and food production designed to deliver innovation and creativity
Managing and leading a team of international chefs and kitchen hands
Maximizing productivity and controlling food and labour costs
Producing quality high volume meals in a fast-paced environment
Maintaining a high level of hygiene and safe work practices
Training and development of Chefs and kitchen staff
Specific Requirements:
A minimum of 2 years’ experience as a Head Chef, managing a team in a busy restaurant
Exposure to various cuisine styles in multiple outlets
The ability to lead, support and mentor the team to achieve desired results
A strong understanding of modern food trends
A passion to learn and be challenged
